Realme has been on a roll lately, with the realme 2 pro really taking the budget smartphones market by storm. well, the company has now launched the Realme U1, with Realme 2 Pro like the design, the MediaTek Helio P70 processor and all of that at a lower price tag. Well, let's get Real and take a look.

Well I will be talking about my first impression about the Realme U1, so when you take a look at the Realme U1 and Real 2 Pro side by side  from the back and front you really can't notice any difference, and its not just the looks there is a lot of other similarities between the two. Now let's talk about the changes in Realme u1, the biggest change comes in the form of a processor, the Realme u1 is the first phone in the world that comes with the MediaTek P70 onboard, so obviously there is a lot of questions around it, well it's too early to judge the performance, things loom positive even though Realme U1 is available in 3 and 4 GB Ram variant, anyway lets start with the benchmarks, the helio P70 on the Realme U1 not only beats the Snapdragon 636 in benchmarks (helio P70-144267 and SD 636-114396), it also outperformance Snapdragon 660 on the Realme 2 Pro, which is pretty impressive and pretty surprising, I know thatRealme 2 Pro has an underclocked Snapdragon 660 but its still pretty impressive. when it comes to the real world performance the Realme U1 has been doing pretty well be it day to day usage to gaming.

The games like asphalt 9 and Tekken run fine on the phone, and even PUBG Mobile runs on medium graphics settings by default, which is definitely great for a budget smartphone. Plus the Helio P70 said to bring better AI capabilities faster face recognition and a lot more. people the face unlock is even a little faster than OnePlus 6T. Another big change from the Realme 2Pro comes on the camera font. The Realme U1 packs a 13MP(f/2.2) plus a 2MP(f/2.4) dual camera setup(PORTRAIT MODE) so it's obvious that it won't match the cameras of Realme 2Pro.

Compared to lights of Redmi Note6 Pro and Realme 2Pro, the Realme U1 seems to be a little overwhelming, but again this a budget smartphone. On the video front there is only support up to 1080P, which is a little surprising coz the helio P70 does support recording up to 4K, which I don't know they have not enabled but the 1080P(30FPS) should be of good quality which doesn't seem to be in this case so far. Coming to the front camera, The Realme U1 comes with a 25MP f/2.0 camera(portrait MODE) which on paper seems pretty impressive. While compared to the Readme Note 6 Pro and Reamle 2Pro, I prefer the selfies from Realme U1 due to natural colours and good detail.

Overall the cameras on the Realme U1 may not be the best in this price range but they are decent, its too early to say.well that was the new upgrades on the Realme U1, the rest  of the phone is pretty similar to the Realme 2Pro and that's not a bad thing, they have got the same design inbuilt that means the Realme u1 is a pretty good looking phone, thanks to the plastic back that looks like glass and the nice and sharp 6.3" IPS LCD display(1080*2340 PIXELS AND GORILLA GLASS 3) with the trendy teardrop notch which I really like, the display here looks beautiful. apart from the display, the Realme U1 has the same usual buttons as in Realme 2Pro and the fingerprint scanner in the back which is really fast, and there's the micro USB port the single speaker and the earphone jack(9mm). the Realme U1 has the same 3,500Mah battery with a stock 5V 2A charger, which is not very huge but should be decent enough. Lastly, there is same feature pat colour OS 5.2 on top of Android Oreo, which should be fine for most people I am pretty disappointed, I mean android Pie is here for quite some time now its sad to see new phones coming with android oreo plus I have never been a fan of colour OS, I mean it has all the features you need but it seems to be cluttered and unpolished, I just hope Realme refines in the future. Its priced at 11,999, and this price the Realme U1 should be a capable budget phone, the realme 2Pro like design is great and premium with a teardrop notch, and the display is a standout at this price range, and the performance with the Helio P70 processor seems to be better than he promising and competition, not everything is positive though, I don't like the fact that there is still Oreo here and I have been a fan of colour OS, also I am a little sceptical about the camera, so if you are wondering if you should buy the Realme U1, I would suggest you to wait for a little more for the detailed review.
