So now let’s talk about today’s topic. Let me ask you something first, have you ever gone through such a situation in which may be your friend or anyone you know will behave in some strange way? Like they will either shout at you with no reason or they will fight with you for silly reasons, or maybe they suddenly become sad for no reason. These things are faced by a maximum of us and we become angry with those people. I have personally experienced this lot and still do.

This is a disease or specifically, a disorder which is faced by them called bipolar disorder. Today I will give you some knowledge about this.

Bipolar disorder—Definition

Bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, is a mood disorder, characterized by extreme shifts in mood, energy and functioning. People who have bipolar disorder can have periods in which they feel overly happy and energized and other periods of feeling very sad, hopeless and sluggish. This highs and lows are the two “poles” of mood, which is why it called ‘bipolar’ disorder.

What causes bipolar disorder?

Researchers are still on their way to justify the proper cause of this disorder. But the effect of genes, brain changes and stress can play a role in this disorder.

As there are two poles of this disorder so we will discuss the symptoms in the context of both.

Now let's talk about the second phase of bipolar disorder that is depression. Depression is the main mood disturbance for most people with bipolar disorder and is evident by:

Risk of suicide is heightened for people experiencing depression.

Diagnosis of bipolar disorder

Diagnosing bipolar disorder for a person can generally be done by people who are always associated with him or her. If they find any of these symptoms occurring in a person then they should consult a doctor or specifically psychiatrist.

Treatments of bipolar disorder

Bipolar disorder can be treated. It’s a long term condition that needs ongoing care. Medications the main treatment usually involving mood stabilizers such as carbamazepine (tegretol), Iamotrigine (Lamictal), lithium or valproate (Depakote). Sometimes antipsychotic drugs are also used such as olanzapine (zyprexa), quetiapme (seroqyel), lurasidone (latude) and cariforazine (vraylar) as well as antidepressants. Psychotherapy or talk therapy is often recommended too.

So here I am gonna end my article. So guys find out who is having this kind of disorder around you. And if anyone is seriously going through this then please try to understand them and cooperate with them. I personally have to handle a person with this disorder, so I am trying to cooperate with him. It may seem tough but you should give them love and care then they can cure soon.
